Electromagnetic Compatibility & Interference
Explained
This 1-day course provides an introduction to EMC
and EMI including guidance on requirements and responsibilities
associated with the provision and use of ICT networks,
cabling & equipment.
Back in 1996 the European Commission introduced a
new Directive on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
The legislation that followed defines a set of rules
for the co-existence of electronic equipment plus
a framework for resolving the problem of electromagnetic
interference (EMI). With heavy fines, withdrawal of
products from the market and even imprisonment in
the case of non-compliance, everybody needs to be
fully aware of EMC and EMI requirements and the consequences
of non-compliance.
This course demystifies these complex topics, looking
at key concepts, best practices for design and use
and summarises relevant standards, with the overall
aim of preparing delegates to formulate the right
strategy for their organisation.
